BRAHMINICAL PATRIARCHY?

Before we indulge in a more serious discussion about "BRAHMINICAL PATRIARCHY" , we shall see its most popularized meaning;

The term ‘Brahminical Patriarchy’ is an ideology by which upper castes have ritually, socially and economically marginalised the women and lower castes.

Now that is clear , let us understand what is the supposed reason behind vocalizing the slogan " LET'S SMASH BRAHMINICAL PATRIARCHY" by many individuals globally.

Smashing Brahminical Patriarchy means smashing the inequalities in gender, religion and social fabric and is definitely not a hate-speech against Brahmins.

Now as much as I'd love to feel that this term is not defamation of a particular creed but rather a healthy criticize towards nonsensical practices , it is impossible to consider so when the word "Brahmin" is prefixed to it. So what is Brahmin you ask? Let me properly answer it. Brahmin (ब्राह्मण) are intellectual folks that are on the path of knowledge & understanding. They were priests , teachers , rishi/rishika's , ministers etc. In general terms those who opted the path of enlightenment may it be of science , politics or philosophy they were called children of Bramha - Brahmin.

Ancient hindu scriptures such as veda , aranyaka , smriti and the rest strongly support the idea of equality & democracy. Since the dawn of Islamic invasion & further colonization of European powers provoked the necessity of hindering the freedom of women in our society for their own safety. Once a necessary action has now become superstitious tradition & unfortunately there are hundreds of people who still believe in gender supremacy. No where that I am or anybody with sane mind would support patriarchy , as it paves a trail of further destruction of society as.

But the problem here is involvement of a sanskrit word of an exquisite meaning to an unrelated global disease!

This became global slogan towards patriarchy when Twitter co-founder and CEO, Jack Dorsey held a placard with the infamous slogan on November 18.

Many women activists were invited for a discussion on the same topic.

Yes there are several incidents of Dalits being not permitted or disgraced by upper caste individuals in recent times. This evil practice not only occurs within our nation but worldwide. To fight this injustice we should all unite & defend under slogans such as Stop gender supremacy or Smash Patriarchy , even better Equality is the new Law! Not LET'S SMASH BRAHMINICAL PATRIARCHY. Even in 21st century with all modernization & education our movie industry sexualize women under the name of ITEM SONGS , many talented actress' still face the problem of casting couch which is known to all , yet so called "unbiased voices" of mass such as The Wire or The Quint target a particular section without proper knowledge of the word or history of the practice.

Conclusion , we need to construct a society where people understand the value of time that is knowledge of the past , plan for the future & spirit for the present. Where everyone is educated enough to know the meaning of "dharma" - natural way of living & "adharma". Where a human being is valued based on their skills & mentality rather than their country , caste , creed , color , sex or class. These self proclaimed activists who believe in aforementioned word , have become the very thing they swore destroy!
